Team logos and marks

GridTicker shows team crests, league marks and similar logos so you can tell at a glance whose score you're looking at. They belong to their owners, not to us. This page explains why they're there and how to have one taken down.

Why they're shown

A ticker is read from across a room, in about a second. A crest is the part of a scoreboard you recognise before you've read anything — which is the whole reason a broadcast bottom line uses one. GridTicker shows a logo for exactly that purpose: to identify the team, league or company a line is about, next to its score or its price.

They are not decoration, branding or merchandise. We don't sell logos, print them, or put them on anything you can hold. Every one of them sits beside the information it identifies and nowhere else.

We are not affiliated with anyone

GridTicker LLC is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or approved by any league, team, player, college, broadcaster, stock exchange, airline or data provider. Nothing in GridTicker, on this site, or on a GridTicker panel should be read as suggesting otherwise.

All team names, league names, logos, wordmarks and other marks are the property of their respective owners and are protected by trademark and copyright law.

Having a logo removed

If you own a mark, or act for the owner, and you'd rather it didn't appear in GridTicker, write to support@gridticker.com. Tell us which mark and we'll remove it. You don't need to explain why, and you don't need a lawyer to ask.

We can do this quickly, and it isn't a promise we've made without checking. Our panels, the web app and the phone widget all draw a logo from a single instruction sent by our service. Turning one off — or all of them — takes effect on every screen, including panels already hanging on people's walls, the next time each one checks in. No customer has to do anything and nothing has to be sent back to us.

What happens when a logo is off

Nothing breaks. GridTicker was built to work without them: a team falls back to its abbreviation drawn in its own colours, which is how the ticker already shows any team whose crest we don't have. You still get the score, the clock and the standings.

We may remove any logo from GridTicker at any time, for any reason — including at an owner's request, or because we think its use might infringe someone's rights. We don't need to tell you first.

By using GridTicker or buying a GridTicker panel, you're confirming you've read this page and understand that GridTicker LLC and GridTicker are not affiliated with any of the leagues, teams, companies or other organisations whose information GridTicker displays.
